Tater came to us with a known bladder stone that needed to be removed. What we didn't know, was that he also had a very large liver shunt. After an extensive surgery, he is ready to find his forever home. Tater is neutered and up to date on all vaccines.
💕 Tater is ready to find his forever family!! At just 1.5 years old, Tater is the perfect mix of playful puppy and professional couch potato! This sweet boy loves lounging on the couch, chewing on his favorite hard toys, and snuggling up with his favorite person. He may be a little shy and guarded when you first meet him, but give him a little time and patience, and you’ll discover a loyal little shadow who just wants to be by your side. ❤️
His BIGGEST request for his new home? A heated blanket! There’s nothing Tater loves more than curling up in your lap while you’re wrapped in a warm, cozy blanket. 🥰 And really, who doesn’t love a baked potato?!?
Tater would love a small dog friend to call his buddy, but large dogs are intimidating to him, so a home without large dogs would help him feel safe and comfortable. We’re unsure how he would do with cats since he hasn’t been around them.
Tater has had a repaired liver shunt, so he will need to remain on a low-protein diet, either his current prescription food or a senior diet approved by his veterinarian.
Tater is looking for a patient, loving home where he can feel safe, be spoiled rotten, and spend his days surrounded by cozy blankets, chew toys, and unconditional love. If you’re looking for a little best friend who will happily claim your lap as his favorite place in the world, Tater might just be your perfect match! 🏡💕
To apply: https://www.midmichiganpugclub.org/adoption-application If you already have an application on file, you can email Rachel at adoptpugs@hotmail.com, to let her know you would like to be considered for Tater.
Rachel, our amazing adoption coordinator, is on vacation for a few weeks, so applications will not be reviewed for a few weeks, please be patient!
IMPORTANT INFO: 🚨 Here is the link to his current food- he MUST stay on a prescribed diet- so before you apply, please understand that this costs more than average dog food
Please understand that submitting an application does not guarantee an interview. We simply do not have the bandwidth. We take great care in trying to match our dogs with what we believe to be the best home for their needs. Every dog is an individual and there are many factors we take into consideration, from medical to behavioral, to environment. We are sorry that some of you will be disappointed but ultimately a dog can only be adopted to one home.
We are a Michigan based rescue, and while we are open to apps from all over the US - and have adopted to many states - adopting out-of-state is a big deal for us and you MUST travel to Michigan to pick up the dog and make the adoption final. Thank you.
